Is it possible to get glandular fever more than once?

Once you have had glandular fever, you can't catch it again. The symptoms normally clear up after about two to four weeks, and although you may feel weak for some time afterwards, you are no longer infectious and now have life-long immunity against the disease.

Glandular fever is a viral infection which has many symptoms including a sore throat, extreme tiredness and a fever. According to NetDoctor the virus is spread via saliva. Kissing is one obvious way by which the disease can be transmitted, and the infection is also spread via airborne droplets.

Symptoms appear between 30 and 50 days after infection, so it is possible to have the virus for some time without realising you are infected, and to pass it on to other people during that time.
