Question

I'm 20 years old and have a toned body, but I cant seem to get rid of my man boobs. I work out every day and go running too, but it doesnt seem to be helping. What can I do?

Answer

It can take time for exercise to take effect, so it might be that your 'man boobs' are just fat that hasn't yet shifted. Remember that you need to consider diet as well as exercise.

It's also possible that you are affected by what is known as Gynaecomastia. This affects around 60% of men at some point during their lives, usually as a result of hormonal changes during puberty.

Other factors that can cause the growth of man boobs include the side effects of a range of drugs, and alcohol intake. If the breast development is rapid it could be a sign of an underlying medical condition.

If your concerns continue, you should speak to your local doctor (GP). They will be able to identify the cause of the growth and, if appropriate, provide information on the most suitable method to get rid of your man boobs.
