Addaction
Addaction is a charity that provides treatment, help and advice about drugs and alcohol for young people and adults. We have services all over the UK, including several specially for young people - youngaddaction.
It's important that children and young people can make informed choices about drugs and alcohol, or ask for help if they need to. youngaddaction's services enable them to do just that. They all provide specialist advice, information, education and treatment. Some services offer regular drop-in sessions. Others also do outreach work in schools and communities. All youngaddaction services offer links to other agencies that work with young people and where necessary, onward referral, for example to prescribing services.
All youngaddaction client contact takes place in a safe place: either in youngaddaction premises that deal exclusively with young people or in a safe place elsewhere, such as a school or community centre.
youngaddaction also works with young people who have been in trouble with the law. Arrest referral schemes based in police custody suites mean that children and young people who have been arrested can get proper support, advocacy and advice in what can be frightening circumstances for them and their families.

youngaddaction provides a series of booklets and information, including What would you do?, a booklet which looks at situations involving drugs and alcohol and encourages young people think about what they'd do in similar circumstances. Future publications include a booklet for children whose parents misuse drugs or alcohol.
