Marian Alonso
Marian Alonso is a professional photographer from Spain with a background in photography and theory of the cinema.
Marian Alonso was born in 1977 in Barcelona, Spain. Interested in the creative fields, in particular specialising in photography, she undertook a photography undegraduate work placement at the Insttitut d'Estudis Fotografics de Catalunya.
Through the years, she has worked as a freelance photographer and designer. Her creative abilities have taught her well within the trade of lecturing at various colleges, photography and dark room techniques. She has also worked as a librarian and as an Assistant manager in an Art Gallery. Her achievements extend to a comprehensive knowledge of cinematic history which she applied to her subtitled post for three years at the Filmoteque of Catalonia.
In 2003, she moved to London, where she is now based. She regularly works as a freelance photographer, and has branched into the performing arts field. She has won several photography awards, obtained a gold in ARCO'07, which involved working in Madrid on a collaborative project, supported by the Spanish Arts & Culture Department.
